In short

Capsule Bridge does not collect, sell, share or send any personal data to the developer or to third parties. There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking.

What the app does

Capsule Bridge connects from your device to the Apple network disk (an AirPort Time Capsule that shares files over AFP) on your home network. Your files travel only between your device and your own disk, inside your own network.

What is stored on your device

  • Disk address, user name and password: stored only on your device, in the system's secure storage (Keychain on Mac and iOS, Keystore on Android). They are never sent to us.
  • If photo backup is on: your photos and videos are copied only to your own disk. Nothing is deleted from your device. A small list of what was already copied is kept on the device.
  • A thumbnail cache is kept on the device and can be cleared.

Permissions

  • Local network: to reach your disk.
  • Photos / media (iOS, Android): only for photo backup, only if you allow it.
  • Background activity: to back up at night while charging (optional).

Purchases

The Full version is purchased through Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), who process the payment. We never receive your payment details; the app only reads from the store that the purchase was made.

Third parties

The app has no server of ours and contacts none. For the optional "away from home" feature, the app explains how to install the free Tailscale service. That is a separate company's service with its own privacy policy; Capsule Bridge sends no data to it.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data.
